Six-week, fall program teaches age-appropriate skills - dribbling, passing,
shooting, game situations. usually held in November T-BALL - 5-8 year olds -
This is for players looking to transition to pitched ball play.
We recommend 10 players in the field, (4 outfielders); outs are recorded but not
runs. Later, some games may feature "coaches' pitch". Games last 4
innings or 1 hour, 15 minutes, whichever comes first. Sundays in June,
first games start around 2:00 p.m. Coaches and adult volunteers are needed for both programs.
*************************************************************************************************** Traditionally, the "soccer year" runs from August 1 to July 31.
Children "age up" to the next age bracket in the fall. Age
is determined by the age the child has reached on July 31. Children may not play up more than two years from their true age; this is a state policy.
Teams currently play in the Black Swamp League and travel to area communities
within a 10-50 mile radius. Teams may choose to play in area tournaments at their option. The YMCA is not able to sponsor tournament participation at this time, and it does not endorse tournament play. ***************************************************************************************************** Beginning Racquetball: Grades 4-8. Specified times. Learn the rules of the game, how to
serve, volley, play offense and defense. Basic skills are stressed.
